Shooting Schedule

This shooting scheule is our guideline as to which we aim to film, but we are fully aware problems may occur which delay our schedule, or (hopefully) it will all run smoothly and go to plan! We chose to film Scenes 1, 2 & 5 Wednesday morning as this was the only time the science lab was available. As we don't assume filming Scenes 2 & 5 will take too long, we thought we would try to film as much as we can on Wednesday, therefore if we realised any problems later on we always have time to reshoot on Thursday. Scene 3 is potentially the longest scene to shoot as we have to show multiple flashbacks, which is why we chose to shoot only this scene on Thursday so we did not have to rush it to stay on schedule.

Casting Approvals

As we had minimum response from the drama department and sixth form notice, we then has to cast year 10 students who were willing to help us. As we know the importance of casting to our film, and ensuring their reliablity, we cast students who knew of, including my own brother! To confirm we would definatly be able to use these students in our film, and take them off timetable for 2 days, we had to inform their head of year. We also got a copy of their time tables so we could inform their subject teachers to set them any work which would be missed.

This is a screen shot of the email to our casts head of year:

We later recieved his reply:

Therefore we e-mailed Mrs. Rayment to inform of their absensces as well as their subject teachers.

Health & Safety

On the 8th of October our Head of Upper School, Mr. Edwards came to our lesson to lay down some health and safety rules. From this discussion with him we were told many aspects we had to acknowledge and rules we have to follow whilst we are filming. This included:

- Realising we are filming around 1900 other students. The school day can not be changed because we are filming, and must still run smoothly.

- Never leave the equipment unattended, as it is very expensive and could either be damaged or stolen.

- Stop filming 5 minutes before the school bell rings, as there will be a large exchange over of students and equipment could get in the way and be damaged.

- To be aware of any dangers of our locations we are choosing. For example, turning the gas taps on and the chemicals in the science labs.

Final Script!

SCENE 1
INT. BARKING ABBEY SCHOOL, SCIENCE LAB. EARLY EVENING.

The camera opens the scene with a shot of ALFIE, pouring petrol in the classroom. He then hears MARIE and JOHNNYS voice from a distance, allowing him to sprint into the science lab experiment room. The camera then shows shots of MARIE and JOHNNY, getting a bit too intimate and slightly sexual. The camera then switches to a walk in cupboard of the classroom where we see ALFIE getting ready to leave, not revealing his face in the shots. Multiple of these shots are shown and then the camera shows ALFIE leaving locking the door as he goes.

MARIE
What was that noise?

JOHNNY rolls his eyes and goes to kiss her neck and MARIE pushes him away.

MARIE
JOHN, honestly you know what ALFIE’s like when he loses it, I don’t know if I can deal with having such a pyhsco boyfriend anymore.

JOHNNY looks at her with a slight giggle and then realises MARIE isn’t amused. Her facial expression is worried. JOHNNY makes his way towards the door, seeming rather frustrated. He goes to open it to find it has been locked. He shakes it and tries to open, still with no luck. MARIE shoots JOHNNY an evil look as she thinks he is messing around.

MARIE
What’s that smell as well?

JOHNNY tries to open the door again still with no luck. He shakes the door and then the lights trip out. (Both JOHNNY and MARIE let out screams.) You can hear the taps start to drip and the chemical trays start to shake.

JOHNNY
Hold on I’ve got a light.

JOHNNY uses his lighter and as he does the sound effect of an explosion plays and the scene blacks out.

SCENE 2
EXT. SCHOOL PLAYGROUND. DAY

ALFIE is sitting on the bench looking extremely upset and mournful. He is reading a newspaper which shows the headlines of two school children being killed in a fire last night. The camera pans around him and reveals the headline. He then pulls the newspaper down and his face is finally revealed.

SCENE 3
INT. BARKING ABBEY SCHOOL, CORRIDORS AND CLASSROOMS. DAY.

This scene shows multiple flashbacks of JOHNNY and MARIE innocently flirting and spending time together, whilst ALFIE looks on a distance. This includes a flashback of ALFIE and MARIE walking along together, when JOHNNY walks past and winks at MARIE.

SCENE 4
EXT. SCHOOL PLAYGROUND. DAY.

ALFIE and MARIE are walking across the playground together and an argument is beginning to arise.

ALFIE
I don’t care if all the girls are going your not. Why do you wanna go out if I’m not there anyways you no that club is always full of boys.

MARIE gives ALFIE a pleading look but he just cuts her off. There is a awkward atmosphere between them. MARIE’s phone begins to ring and she answers it. ALFIE stares at her intently.
MARIE
Hey babe….. (Giggles)…yeh I’m fine… (She nervously looks at ALFIE who is staring at her) I’m just a bit busy at the moment ok babe, I’ll call you back!

ALFIE directs a questioning look at her.

MARIE
Just one of the girl’s ok. (MARIE looks in her bag and realises she has forgotton something.) Babes take my bag I just gotta run back and get my book I left in class ok.

MARIE passes ALFIE her bag and runs back. Once out of sight ALFIE goes into her bag and pulls out her phone. He goes to the latest calls were he see’s the last received call was JOHNNY.

SCENE 5
EXT. SCHOOL PLAYGROUND. DAY.

ALFIE is still sitting on the bench looking distressed now, (same as SCENE 2) and holding the newspaper.
